    MHS Happenings

Attention family members of MHS Seniors - you are welcome to decorate around your student’s banner on Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  You may hang balloons, etc but please do not block the view of the banner from the street and also do not infringe on another student’s banner. Please park in the old Wal Mart parking lot and be careful crossing Hwy 84. No parking can be allowed on the school parking lot during the day. Also please adhere to social distancing guidelines and only have 1 or 2 people in your group. This is completely optional.

MHS is inviting everyone to drive past the school on Friday night from 7 - 7:30 to celebrate our seniors on their original graduation night. Please drive down Kings Highway and then turn left on Hwy 84. Please be prepared to honk and wave and keep it moving. To keep everyone safe, we won’t be able to stop and park.

    Student email account access

It has come to our attention that high school students may not realize that their Google account is also an email account. The email functionality is available to ALL Desoto Parish students in grades 9-12. At this time, high school counselors, teachers, etc...may be contacting students via email, so it is important that high school students check their email on a regular basis.

1: On your computer go to www.gmail.com

    Dear Parent/Guardians/Students,

I felt it was vital to provide you all with important information regarding Mansfield High School during the COVID-19 outbreak. Mansfield High School office is closed until further notice. As you know, the DeSoto Parish School System has remained engaged in the work of being proactive and adaptive to the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

There is a posted link to Frequently Asked Questions that is updated daily on the district’s website.  There are also daily Coronavirus Updates posted as well to inform you of the steps being taken by the DeSoto Parish Board and Mansfield High School. Our role is to help ensure the safety of not only your child but the Mansfield community.

The Department of Student Learning will be providing online resources to support the retention of grade level and subject area learning standards. These resources will be in alignment with the information your child has already learned in their classrooms this year. The items will be updated weekly and focus directly on Louisiana State Standards that align with the curriculum used daily in our classrooms. In addition, printed packets of these same materials will be available for pickup at our local parish libraries as well as at the feeding program sites.  Again, these packets will be updated weekly. Students will not be expected to complete school work during this time. However, these materials can be used to focus students on the standards that have already been taught to keep learning concepts fresh.

Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for students with the support of local churches. Please reference the district’s website for the locations.

Please check the school’s website for updates on information about Mansfield High School.  If you have questions that are not in the FAQ, please email questions@desotopsb.com.

The district asks that employees not visit the school site at this time.  Only essential staff will have an abbreviated schedule to work. If you have any school-related concerns, please contact me by email at toras.hill@desotopsb.com

Please continue to pray for our students, community, and nation during this time and remain Wolverine Strong!!
